Speak From the Heart: Storyteller Training for Families, Not Politics

Speak From the Heart: Storyteller Training for Families, Not Politics

Sunday, September 13, 2026 at 4:00 PM–5:30 PM — Virtual event — join from anywhere

Every week, we're bringing together volunteers, family members, and community members to build one of our most powerful tools in this campaign: our own stories. Coloradans are being asked to vote on Initiatives 109 and 110 this fall; measures that would have real consequences for kids, families, and medical care across our state. The research is clear: most voters don't start out understanding what these measures actually do. What changes minds isn't a debate. It's a real conversation with someone whose life is affected. That's where you come in. In this 1.5 hour-long virtual workshop, you'll learn how to: - Shape your own experience — as a parent, a trans person, a faith leader, friend, a neighbor, a medical provider, or an ally — into a story that connects - Lead with empathy instead of argument, so conversations open people up instead of shutting them down - Bridge from your story to the facts that matter most to undecided voters - Feel confident having these conversations with your community, friends, family, neighbors, and canvassing contacts No experience necessary. Whether you're planning to canvass, phone bank, talk to your own family, or just want to feel more prepared for the conversations already happening around you, this training is for you. This session repeats weekly — come to the one that fits your schedule.
